Format just a place holder? Why in the fuck wouldn't they just post the proper info. If they dont have it get it or make the decision and move on. WDF well on its way to being as inept as the BDO.

No more sets for the Masters. Pity as I always liked that best of 3 per set for something a little different. Why would you change the format for thw longest running most prestigious event?

One interesting thing is the page on the Masters, which is set for December: https://dartswdf.com/competitions/world ... s-men/2021

Ignoring the fact that they intend to play the Last 64 before the Last 256... is this format just a placeholder? Best of 13 legs for the final?

Playing Format
Final - Best of 13 legs
Semi-finals - Best of 11 legs
Quarter-finals - Best of 9 legs
Last 16 - Best of 9 legs
Last 32 - Best of 9 legs
Last 128 - Best of 9 legs
Last 256 - Best of 9 legs
Last 64 - Best of 9 legs
Round one group - Best of 7 legs
They are looking for a quicker tournament to get more matches on TV (Not sure the TV station yet)

There is one hell of a jump from that to having a first to 7 legs final for something they've chosen to call the 'World Masters' and a 'Major'. It reads like an insult. It will be a bit of a shock to some people.

I don't quite believe it but if the above is accurate then the amateur game is almost totally giving up on everything but short course darts. I wonder what their World Championship will look like.

Just draw lots to decide the winner. Cheaper, quicker and more pleasant to watch.

I'll do it before the Euros sweepstake draw if they want. Everyone enjoys a novelty warm-up act.

Discovery + does have a lot of programmes about mythology, ancient discoveries and mysteries, so maybe not so strange after all
