But its too broad. No problem with it be describled for pub/super league players

It's exactly intended to be broad, to scoop up the whole. A quick and easy catch-all term for the times when one is needed. It's functional, that's all. It makes life easier.

I think you're worried that it's some trick designed to demean or insult. Plenty of sports companies that work with players of all kinds of intentions and abilities, now including MAD, use it very happily. It's not a problem.

I prefer something better IMO. Cricket use Recreational which covers Minor countries all the way to the lowest village sides. Non-League for Football. Amateur is demeaning for players like Adams, Thornton etc

Yes, you can't get out of the mindset that it's an insult and that's not going to go well for you. Plus I don't see any actual darts players asking you to defend them against the word or dodging MAD because of the 'A' but ok. I think we're going mad now.
