So how would you define the young up and coming players?

Okay, serious question. Let’s say you were Leighton Bennett’s manager and he has a reasonable season and say gets to the semi finals of the worlds. Would you advise him to go to Q school in Jan when he will of just turned 16 or maybe advise him to wait a couple of years if in that time he managed to win a world title or a masters , whereby he can gain more experience?

I would advise him to retire.

I don't think he would cut it in the PDC.

Seriously, I can imagine all of those competing in the WDF Championship will have a bash at Q School if they can.

Perhaps not really old gits like Adams, Montgomery, etc.

I'd say clean up in the WDF if you can and until things get back to normal take the Modus coin.
Then go for Q School.

I think you should try and qualify for the WDF World Championship.

If you were managing Leighton what advice would you give him, if he say got to the semi finals of the worlds? Stay in the WDF for a couple of years or go straight to Q school?

I wouldn't advise him of anything as I would never be in a position to manage a player or would want to, Any advice ive ever given to other players that have asked me for it has purely been on the technique/playing etc side of things.

More from Ashdown via the Inside the WDF podcast. Saying things about prize money and event dates.

Seems that county fixtures also clash with the Lakeshite dates, lol. UKDA runs that now. I'm trying to keep up.
