The silly cunts a disaster waiting to happen, lets hope the PDC have distanced themselves far enough away from this joke as to not bring them crashing down too.

I am convinced that come 2035 the Lakeside will still be going strong with the likes of Ted Hankey, Martin Adams and Tony O'Shea will into old age, but still leading the charge

Bumped for Rogg.

Hankey won £1023 in the year this thread is about and he was one spot off a Lakeside place. The OP details someone who got in off the back of £2200 and Sam Head won even less I think.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Cheers :) some reading for later. Incredibly low numbers, yet not all that surprising. I wonder how many Lakeside qualifiers manage to break even on the road to qualifying? And it's not as though there's anything like a minimum 10k pot of gold at the end of that road. No wonder hardly anyone is bothering.

It doesn't help that most payouts in BDO/WDF-ranked events are so top-heavy...there's decent money to be made if you're regularly getting to semifinals and beyond, but if you're a lesser player who has to rely on QF / R16 / R32 results for his Lakeside campaign, the money is just terrible. I suppose it's highly motivating in a way to know that you have to qualify for the Lakeside and its £3,250 first-round cheque to make your season make any financial sense at all, but...

Some super sophisticated wholesome motivational tool employed by the BDO for the good of the game, no doubt.

Maybe its worth repeating the process this year:
27 = Sven Verdonck (Belgium) 148
Sven has scored points in 17 events but only the first 12 count, but this is what he has won this season. The last five events on the list are the ones that are not counting this season:
Isle of Man Open 13/03/2016 placed 9 21 pts - £150
World Masters 11/10/2015 placed 9 21 pts - £1000
Denmark Open 30/04/2016 placed 9 15 pts - DKK600
Welsh Open 15/05/2016 placed 17 14 pts - £120
Dutch Open 31/01/2016 placed 17 14 pts - €100
German Open 16/04/2016 placed 5 12 pts - €200
Swedish Open 20/08/2016 placed 17 10 pts - SEK500
Sunparks Masters 22/11/2015 placed 17 10 pts - €50
Top of Waregem 26/03/2016 placed 5 9 pts - €135
Swiss Open 04/06/2016 placed 9 8 pts - CHF 100
Masters of Waregem 27/03/2016 placed 9 8 pts - €100
Police Masters 22/05/2016 placed 9 6 pts - NOTHING
Polish Open 21/05/2016 placed 9 6 pts x - PL 200
European Classic 30/07/2016 placed 33 5 pts x - NOTHING
England National 19/06/2016 placed 17 4 pts x - £25
Denmark Masters 01/05/2016 placed 17 4 pts x - DKK200
German Masters 17/04/2016 placed 17 4 pts x - €50
So this season, he has won a total of (at todays exchange rates)

£1295
€635 (£542)
DKK 800 (£92)
SEK 500 (£45)
CHF 100 (£78)
PL 200 (£40)

= £2092

Take away the five non-counting events, and he may be getting into Lakeside on the back of winning £1961!!!! Over half of that being the Masters, ffs.

Shaun Carroll is equal on points with Sven Verdonck and doesnt have any Masters money, maybe he has won even less.

Shaun Carroll:
England Open 19/06/2016 placed 9 21 pts - £200
Belgium Open 07/08/2016 placed 5 20 pts - €250
BDO International Open 05/06/2016 placed 5 20 pts - £200
Scottish Open 14/02/2016 placed 9 15 pts - £80
Jersey Open 14/11/2015 placed 5 12 pts - £200
European Open 31/07/2016 placed 17 10 pts - £75
Top of Waregem 26/03/2016 placed 5 9 pts - €135
Romanian Classic Open 24/01/2016 placed 5 9 pts - €175
French Open 27/08/2016 placed 9 8 pts - €100
Antwerp Open 14/08/2016 placed 9 8 pts - €100
Denmark Masters 01/05/2016 placed 9 8 pts - DDK 500
Masters of Waregem 27/03/2016 placed 9 8 pts - €100
Isle of Man Classic 13/03/2016 placed 9 8 pts x - £100
Jersey Classic 14/11/2015 placed 9 8 pts x - £100
Welsh Open 15/05/2016 placed 33 7 pts x - £60
World Masters 11/10/2015 placed 33 7 pts x - NOTHING
European Classic 30/07/2016 placed 33 5 pts x - £40
Denmark Open 30/04/2016 placed 33 5 pts x - NOTHING
HAL Masters 19/03/2016 placed 17 3 pts x - Unknown
Romanian International Open 24/01/2016 placed 17 3 pts x - €30
So overall in the year (at todays exchange rates)

£1055
€890 (£759)
DDK 500 (£58)

=£1872 in the season, or just £1546 if you look at the 12 countable events. I cant find the prize fund for one events but it is non-countable and he only got to the Last 32 so cant imagine it was any more than €40, if that.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x
