In very dark territory with One Foot in the Grave today. A care home for the elderly in the middle of nowhere. An imitation of Apocalypse Now.

I read that they cut a scene for the VHS release, since restored on the DVD. No prizes for guessing which scene if you ever see it. Safc definitely has. I can see his boxset from here.

David Renwick on the commentary of the episode with the old people's home, saying the BBC had so many complaints that it was edited for repeats. The original is on the DVD and it is nasty for 'sitcom.' A long way from Some Mothers Do Ave Em.
I had the feeling I'd mentioned this episode before. Here I was in September 2018. OFITG upset a lot of people in its time. The number of animals that die in it is quite incredible for a start.

A tortoise got burned alive and another one got buried alive. A snake suffocated, baby alligators boiled alive, god knows how many fish were electrocuted. A robin got killed by a cat. Then there was the cat that got stuck in the freezer. I never noticed the ongoing massacre until somebody mentioned it.

- 'I'm not going to leave it in there, am I? So its eyes light up every time you open the door.'

It's Roy Hudd is it? I'd forgotten that. I think I saw that one on TV when it first aired. One of the last eps.

Yes OFITG is a world built with amazing care. So much going on.

I'm not so good on The Royle Family. I've seen all the Christmas ones but haven't even seen all the regular episodes. The Golden Egg Cup and The New Sofa are my favourites.

Nope. Second letter is a D... and it's not Edward.
