I think it's actually a good thing that Gerwyn stops "giving it large" and just focuses on being serious and playing his best darts. In his Grand Slam finals of 2019 and 2021, and his best spells in the 2021 World Championship final, the latter behind closed doors admittedly, he was very serious and professional and just played to the highest standard. Constantly "giving it large" to the crowd uses up a lot of energy and wears you out, particularly if you haven't got the recent results to back it up.

Perhaps only "give it large" at a very big moment, like winning a key leg or set, or match.
