(95.54) Cristo Reyes 3-2 Dimitri Van den Bergh (99.11) -- Both brilliant. Reyes 12/19 on doubles. Dimitri 9 180s and did little wrong.

(94.46) Darren Webster 3-2 Stephen Bunting (91.02) -- Bunter binned 7 match darts. Unreal Webster surge and won the tie-break.
I miss this version of Dimitri. That version of Reyes too, let's not forget his absolute madness of a game vs MvG in the next round. Alas, he was not to maintain that form...
Well Dumbo was fantastic against Clayton in the corresponding round as recently as the last edition. He's played brilliantly in many matches at the Worlds down the (very few!) years. He's arguably overdue a complete disaster there... uhoh :)
Got a pretty out of form Josh Payne or Diogo Portela in round 2, so it would be a bit of a disaster if he couldn't get through that bit. Then he's slated to face Smith, would rather it have been Gando, but who knows, hopefully he can find his form again

I was there that night same night Beaton came back v Caris with a help from the crowd. VVDV won v Mark Hylton I think 3-1 and Nicholson beat Mensur aswell 3-1

Any match starring the mighty Lord Ronald of Blackpool.
The Worlds ( and all comps) are just not the same these days.

I'll get my coat.............

Think any of the first round games this year have potential to make this list?

Nothing in the first round looks that enticing to me. Though to be fair, before last year the first round was what now is the second. So it's not comparing like for like.

De Sousa-Heta is the standout, and if you are to compare like with like, the winner against Duzza in the next round is tasty. On that note, the potential Ratajski-Hughes contest is also very tasty

A few other last 64 games look very exciting, Hopp-Clemens arguably the most interesting

Yes I agree, De Sousa-Heta is definitely the stand out first round tie. The only bad thing about the potenial Ratajski-Hughes game is that they've put it on a Tuesday afternoon where no bugger can watch it.

Wattimena v Cullen in 2018 was mentioned up thread. Surely add to that Wattimena v Humphries 2020 in the corresponding round.

JW gets involved in some scenes here.

Not total shit? --- (91.11) Phil Taylor 3-2 Michael van Gerwen (85.99)

Yep. Teenage MvG needs d12 to win 3-1. Stands back. Takes his time. Disaster. Taylor almost lost to everyone he played in that one before MARDLE finally flushed it.

I remember it being tense more than shit.
Ah Rands. Back when you could actually watch a game of darts without fretting about strangling infants and pomps.
