That sort of thing is pretty much always the same. Just robotic Q&A. No comebacks or even evidence that the interviewer is listening and there are missed opportunites galore. Still, this doesn't mean they can't provide good info sometimes and it's all free. I'm waiting for a tdf podcast.

Redraw: He wanted the draw done on the day, because of people who wouldn't turn up. He wanted to keep the entries open. The rules say the draw has to happen in advance. And he had to appease people "who don't care anyway". He wants to change the rules so the Masters draw can be done on the draw next year.

Fake names: People put the names in for other people and that were the "fake names". This was always the same but in past years no one cared. And this year he only gets criticised for it because he actually said the truth out loud. They don't monitor the names that go into the draw (what?)

Contracts: 2 guys had to sign it who qualified for Ally Pally, Baggish and Campbell. Des told them earlier they could play in the Masters but couldn't take the money if they weren't committed to play the O2. (In case they won the Masters)

On the weekend: "Absolutely fantastic, great numbers, great crowd, Paul Booth is second to none, standard has been second to none, everyone had a great time" etc.

Grand Slam picks: He was clearly uncomfortable talking about this. He states the BDO would have picked different players and refuses to talk about it any further.

Lack of Asian qualifier for Lakeshite: There definitely will be one next year. He asked 2 events to hold the qualifier next year. An Asian Open asked if their winner could be at Lakeshite, he refused. (Doesn't explain why they've done nothing to organise a qualifier one way or another)

Resigning: He was frustrated to see social media comments (e.g. about the youth prize money), he's doing 70 hours a week. He doesn't think he failed on anything so far. Providing the players are happy, the fans can see TV events, he doesn't see why he should resign.

Youth prize fund: There was a prize fund all along, so the rumours were unfounded.

2020 goals: He mentioned they want 4 TV events next year. He wants stability. And less negative posts. And more support.

Christ. That interview is so bad even Kim Jong-un is advising the BDO's glorious leader to tone down the propaganda.

I assume that figures doesn't include the free tickets given away. There were at least 40 people in attendance for the Saturday afternoon session.

Still, 80 paying customers over 6 sessions? That's pretty grim. Some of those will be repeat customers as well. For example, Oche attended more than one session.
