2013 sticks out massively. 2015 unusual considering both technically lost and won in terms of different formats.
Thornton must have proper bummed him in last leg deciders in 2015. What a cow.
What an Anal that was

So yeah, predictable ending (without being quite as disappointing as last year), but an OK event all round. Standard wasn't exceptional yet again, but we had a fair few nailbiters, good enough for me. Not that I'd judge the health of the game based on this unique event, but even if MvG wins one major, it definitely doesn't mean he will win them all, the door will open for someone to win a major between now and the end of the season...

More and more empty seats In every tournament tells the story. Mvg ain't what he was . Gando is a pudding. Wright is a clown. Lewis Chisnall Bunting Smith Gurney are blubbermen, Cross and Wade are weirdos , Any sport that has Ian ' raincoat' White in its top dozen , isnt in great shape.
Don't bother watching then. Boring twat

averaging 96 after 22 legs. When they strip out the whole sack load of missed doubles in, that number will be fat as fuck.
And that number was fat as fuck:

Yep, decent final. No one can accuse Chizzy of bottling that, he played decent but MVG just too good

Reminds me of the 09 world final.
So many deciding legs but ended 7-1
Yeah me too, was about to post about that match the similarities are there!
Hard to believe that's a decade ago!
A final which was repeated at the Grand Prix that same year and... why I mention it... was the last time somebody retained the Grand Prix until tonight.
MVG has now retained most things at some point... apart from the Worlds.

1998 - Phil Taylor def Rod Harrington 13-8
1999 - Phil Taylor def Shayne Burgess 6-1
2000 - Phil Taylor def Shayne Burgess 6-1
2001 - Alan Warriner def Roland Scholten 8-2
2002 - Phil Taylor def John Part 7-3
2003 - Phil Taylor def John Part 7-2
2004 - Colin Lloyd def Alan Warriner 7-3
2005 - Phil Taylor def Colin Lloyd 7-1
2006 - Phil Taylor def Terry Jenkins 7-4
2007 - James Wade def Terry Jenkins 6-3
2008 - Phil Taylor def Raymond van Barneveld 6-2
2009 - Phil Taylor def Raymond van Barneveld 6-3
2010 - James Wade def Adrian Lewis 6-2
2011 - Phil Taylor def Brendan Dolan 6-3
2012 - Michael van Gerwen def Mervyn King 6-4
2013 - Phil Taylor def Dave Chisnall 6-0
2014 - Michael van Gerwen def James Wade 5-3
2015 - Robert Thornton def Michael van Gerwen 5-4
2016 - Michael van Gerwen def Gary Anderson 5-2
2017 - Daryl Gurney def Simon Whitlock 5-4
2018 - Michael van Gerwen def Peter Wright 5-2
2019 - Michael van Gerwen def Dave Chisnall 5-2
The Taylor v part finals are the ones to rewatch.
Taylor was obscenely good

His "I hate fat people from St Helens" gimmick is at least original.

His "darts is shit and dying" routine is shite. Randall has already perfected that gimmick.

Indeed it was. Good find.

Set scores: 3-0, 2-3, 3-2, 3-2, 3-1, 2-3, 3-2

A classic example of a casual glance at the score in sets not reflecting the margin. But loser is loser.

MH ban this fucking idiot
That's a bit harsh mate !
What I'm trying to point out is that the top guys apart from MVG arent exactly improving are they ?
And nobody seems to be coming through to any great effect .
Tickets for these events have stoped selling out for the first time in years . I'm not a BDO fan , although most of these clowns came from there anyway.
Perhaps if the prize money wasnt so high for being knocked out in the early rounds some of these fat puddings might take a look in the mirror, lay off the lard and the booze, get themselves in shape and improve their game.
If you want me to be barred for saying that ..then go ahead

Eh?

Don't they always struggle to sell tickets for the Grand Prix?
