For what it's worth, I believe the list isn't fully updated. At least someone told me he knows a few players who have entered but aren't on the list. So we could potentially have plenty more than the 300ish entries we see right now.

By this time next year, this lot will have been revised as having been shit anyway. A legion of nobodies like all the World Trophy winners and runners-up, World Pro seeds and finalists who went to Euro Q-School this year. Even freakin' Scott Waites is doing QS as soon as there's no significant downside to it.
Even worse, I imagine.
Harms will be the best player in the world. He simply chooses not to play the game professionally, you know.

Des must have known this would be the result.
You wonder what benefits he was hoping to get out of it.

Of course. Last year it went from 300-ish to nearly 450 from Friday to Tuesday. Same thing's gonna happen here. I'd be shocked if it doesn't end at least above 400.

Wonder when "Harms averaged 104 against Keegan Brown" will be added to the mushroom list of professional darts achievements.Rogg wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 1:30 pmBy this time next year, this lot will have been revised as having been shit anyway. I think it's as simple as him having observed that discontent by the "top" players is bad news if you want to keep being a well-liked chairman. The counties don't give a crap as long as the BICC runs, and the whole charade that the BDO still maintains a professional wing has survived all the disasters of the last few years - enough people will keep believing it even if the standard bearers are Harms and Parletti instead of Durrant and Waites. Let the guys go if they want and keep playing to your audience.
Of course, at some point the BDO is gonna run out of TV channels, but who knows if the shit will be hitting the fan even then - the mushrooms are already being re-trained to think that internet streaming is just fine.

Literally any of the top players that are there next year will be because they failed at q school and have nowhere else to go.Zeyes wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 1:44 pmI think it's as simple as him having observed that discontent by the "top" players is bad news if you want to keep being a well-liked chairman. Can't imagine the atmosphere will be any good or how it can be defended

Seems Coneman is doing it large. Menzies replying, which suggests he is vaguely aware that it's q-school time.

Menzies said he has a free entry having been in the top 8 of the Challenge Tour, so he'll be entered in the 15th. Same with Boulton and Atkins then, I assume.tungsten tossers wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 12:56 pmNo Cammy yet!!!sennafan24 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 12:09 pm Wes Newton confirmed. No Andy Hamilton, yet.

Doesn't need defending to the true faithful, that's the thing. Anyway, I think the much bigger issue than the participating players will be the lack of an audience if they really do move it from the Lakeside.

Free tickets in Turkey won't be much use to the rank and file.

Re: PDC Qualifying School 2019 (Euro 3-6 Jan, UK 17-20 Jan)
Some players will go back to BDO I think that in the mind of jobbers and even in the eyes of player sponsors, the Lakeside and Masters are still worth a few bits to the players. Certainly the unlikely failure of Poto and qweef will put them back in the BDO fold. Would be shocked if they did the CT. Can hear it now at the exhibitions the call from the MC "Now introducing World Champion, Masters winner, and number 1 PDC CT player, welcome to the stage Glenn Durrant." Sounds like Durrant will have a load of exhbos lined up to keep him busy, so if he doesn't get the card best to focus on more of exhbos and a few trips to Europe if needed for the BDO points. He will have a hard time dealing with the travel demands of exhbos and doing all the PDC events he will need to do.

Ginge, whatever happened to that kid whose father use to come on to TSOD? what was his name? His father was a right tit, and I believe the kid took off from home and he was on that dart show they did about finding young talented players with Russ Bray, Manley, etc..

yes reece rings a bell, forgot about him. he was touted as one of the youngsters to make some noise, like hubbard and monk about the same time.Tommo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 5:45 pmIt wasn't Reece Robinson was it, that name rings a bell?cannibal wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 3:58 pm Ginge, whatever happened to that kid whose father use to come on to TSOD? what was his name? The kid I was thinking of was a right prat, Billy Holmes. Seems he didn't play last year, but did play in the DT for a couple years and on the CT. Looks to have got a serious case of Dartitis and packed in as he has got no results listed for 2018.
