Say it a few more times, you might convince yourself it's true!

MVG is just more consistent.

Consistency has been and will always be the key to being the World's #1 is it not?

I think that only Smith and Anderson have scoring power to go against A+ MvG. In finishing Taylor and maybe Cross.
Mentally - only Chizzy.

All you ethnocentric "subjects of the British crown" just can't stand it that a Dutchman is clearly the best player in the world.

It must chap your asses in a royal way.

Yep, MVG will be on the Sciatica Scrapheap with Merv King, while pictures of health Rob Cross, Michael Smith, Adrian Lewis, Corey Cadby and Justin van Tergouw are dominating the game. :D

You keep telling yourself that if you like.

I personally think the bigger danger for MVG is losing motivation. If he keeps his motivation, he will be at the top for a long time to come.

Although he's not been at his best for some time, surely an on form Adrian Lewis has the scoring power to challenge an A+ MVG.

MVG can score better than Taylor ever did over bursts of a few legs, but Taylor in his pomp played brilliant pretty much constantly whereas MVG has fairly frequent periods of relative mediocrity. I think if Taylor 2008-2010 played MVG 2015-2017 across all the major finals, Taylor would win most of the tournaments. Taylor's consistent brilliance would ensure MVG only got a slight lead in his periods of phenomenal scoring, then MVG would lose lots of legs in his spells of mediocrity while Taylor picked him off with relentless consistency.

It's interesting to note that while MVG holds the record for the highest ever match average, Taylor still holds the four highest ever tournament averages in PDC majors.

Taylor's consistency would have been the difference.
Mentally Taylor was stronger as well.

Being stuck on that lathe churning out the bog handles toughened him up.
