Fair enough that you are jaded but this doesn't really resemble reality.

Have to say my interest in darts has ebbed of late, but that's not unusual in the first six months of the year when there are no really big events.

Similar problem but only because Chizzy has semi-retired.

You can have it in a picture. Thanks Burton.

De Zwaan in the footsteps of Bunting and Cross, getting a tour card in January and making Blackpool in July. Fantastic achievement, one of many here.

Richard North has qualified for the World Matchplay. I've nothing more to add. I'd bet he has no fingernails left after today.

I haven't watched any darts since the legendary WDT/World Cup weekend. I will therefore be totally refreshed when the Matchplay kicks off.

I don't think it's a given that MVG will win it. He has only won 1 of the last 5 ranking majors (Grand Slam 2017). He was beaten at the 2018 Worlds, 2018 UK Open, 2017 Grand Prix, and the 2017 Matchplay. I think a number of players on his side of the draw could give him a run for his money (Anderson, Lewis, RVB, etc).

It's not at all, but if he is going to lose, I suspect it will be in either rounds 1 or 2. After that, it's a long format, and it's legplay, so it's probably the one tournament that suits him best. With Taylor gone, it's only him and Wade among the field who have actually won it

Aye.

I think Lewis has the best chance of taking him out in the 2nd round.

Wright and Gurney would be easy meat for him in the final. Cross might give him a bit more of a game if he finds his form.

Not a fan of Phil Taylor's commentary. With him and Mardle, my mute button is going to get a bashing!

Taylor-Mardell tetchy banter is the last thing anyone needs. Then there's all his "Gerwen" panic attacks. Could be wrecking ball in need of a producer but I'm sure Sky know what they're doing. Or maybe Pheel has mellowed. Ahem.

I disagree. Comedy gold in the making.

Philth in the comma box, car wreck waiting to happen. Everything will be all about him, all the time.
Will be worth watching to see this disaster unfold. No way this ends well for Philth.

Don't really care either way who's in commentary. Be interesting to hear how Phil's doing but probably the novelty's gonna wear off quickly
