Posting to complain about a lack of posting. Curiously constructive. I have some, stay tuned. The Ginge Reaper wrote:The forum buzzing with activity on the eve of the PDC's second biggest comp, I see.

I see the PeeDeeCee have been hammering this tournament all week on the social meeja. Collecting up clips, quizzes, competitions, interviews, memories, predictions... They are teasing the launch of some game thingy too. So why do some people make event promotion seem like going to the moon?

Really looking forward to the world matchplay as always. As u know my fave tournament. I wanna see Michael v Adrian round 2. Really special event always. Particularly this year being the silver anniversary. Well done to all concerned in reaching this. It reminds how lucky we've been to share loads of memories from all darts tournaments. This is the tournament that fuelled my interest in the game 22 years ago. A wild very special journey it's been.

I think it is quite open this year and we could see a few shocks...
A lot of top players with a point to prove and some newcomers that can cause an upset..
Wade v Wattimena looks a great game and MvG v JdZ could be interesting if MvG starts slow
I cannot wait...

Only ones on it I'd even want to see back are Payne and Benito, maybe Webby and Thorn at a push.

Aaand we're off. Remember the first night last year where Wright looked shattered and everyone was saying about the World Series travelling affecting the players.
If there's anything in that, it's a great night to catch the Michaels.

Two dabbles this evening:
Lewis/MvG/Smith to have the most 180s in their respective matches, nearly 5/1 with the William Hill bet boost
Chissy to win and average 93.5 or more, was 3/1 with Betvictor and I put this on about a week and a half back, long been suspended.

today's games all look like blow-outs. (10-5 scores or better)
I'm guessing easy peasy for the marquee players.

Absolutely love this event, finally time for the major season to start. Enjoy the darts folks, hoping for Lewis vs MVG in round 2 of course and there are plenty of other tasty match ups too. There's something special about the Matchplay, I think it's the format, hopefully we get some close matches as usual!

Live from 7 on Talksport2 online and on the DAB if you seek an alternative build-up to God's list of what-we-call-power-scorers-Dave. He'll be adding de Zwaan to it soon. Jeffrey's time.
