It would take until 2030 to round up all the statements over the years about how Wright is this and that at darts. None of it matters. You're a long time world champion.

Noel Malicdem's name becomes legend on the same night. Was it only one match dart? I'd got my Randall on and gone to bed that night.

Match dart at the bull for 121. The silly thing is, Wright should have never managed to end up in that position in the first place needing to do a Cross from 302 down to stay in the bloody event.

162-140 either side of the match bull? Bugger me. I should look it up.

There will be some regret showing the grandkids in 20 years the greatest 6 darts of your career that led to you becoming a world champion and having to explain why you were dressed as an elf.

Haha. The whole 162 140 is at the start of this theatrical wee video. Noel's bull shot is very scruffy.

Thibault Tricole is our first contender for this at the Indigo zero-two (as per various BDO publications).

Edit: Jim Williams makes it two for the session.

And still going.

This must be getting on for Richie George levels of shit gifting.

Jim Williams (85.34) 3-2 (85.12) Gary Stone
Jim Williams (94.36) 4-0 (86.91) Ryan Hogarth
Jim Williams (86.81) 5-1 (82.14) Paul Hogan

If he keeps Glen Durranting his way through the field, we'll have to re-open that weakest paths to title thread (or whatever it's called)

I think we can consider it now. This is a rather ludicrous path to the final.

Amazingly, it's still better than Waites' run in 2013, who only had to face an average above 82 a total of two times, with a peak of 85.19 thrown against him. This is still plenty ludicrous though.

Making it back to back entries in TV tournaments for Wright. That's crackers really. 10 straight wins on the telly since being dressed as an elf when Noel binned his bull.

Winning back to back TV events at all puts him in an extremely elite club so to have done it like this is potentially unique...?

When Wade won back to back TV events (Euros and World Series), he also survived match darts in both of them

The 2020 UK Open semi-finalists. As far as I remember it.

Clayton and Gurney have survived match darts, Gurney by two opponents (Brown and O'Connor), Clayton 8 against only Hughes.

MVG close to getting dumped by Lowe. Lowe with 6 darts a 161 and didn't get a match dart?

Price also with a 10-9 against Clemens. A remarkable amount of 10-9s all weekend.

141 for Lowe and didn't get a dart, absolutely gutting. Clemens didn't get a dart, but led all the way from 2-1 to 9-8, equally devastating

Bumping for a notable mention. Dave buggered away a 7-3 lead and four championship darts and Joyce wins PC10. Sigh.

Razma and Duzza also took Joyce to a deciding leg at the back end today. I haven't investigated further.

MVG seemingly survived one dart yesterday against Billy Borland, who needed 71 for the match and left 40.

The first line of the post above is interesting given what just happened.

Chizzy survives SEVEN match darts by Joyce at the Grand Prix... jus sayin.
