do u think a player shud be picky about sponsors or shud they just accept any money or help no matter where it cums from?

Depends whether the player is desperate I guess. If a player gets into bed with the wrong people it will always come back and bite him in the arse

its a difficult one for players, on the one hand they want to keep their integrity intact and on the other they need the money, as MH says getting it wrong and being associated with the wrong sponsor can do you more damage than good, in that case you had better make sure that the initial money is worth it because it could be a while before another comes a knocking

We got offered the chance to sponsor a top 16 player for twelve months & it was £5k which I though wasn't bad as long as he gets in the PL the TV exposure would be very good. We're also looking to sponsor one of the youth players to play the youth tour which we're looking at around £1500.

that sounds about the norm for business sponsorship, I have heard of a lot more but as a player you'd be a fool to undersell yourself for say the price of a cup of coffee

Another problem is that once someone knows you have been sponsored for bladders it devalues your brand, I mean why give a fella a couple of grand when he will wear yer badge for the price of a pie and chips
