Problem is when the guest finishes top of the league, which guest do you call back ?
MvG v Klaasen, anyone? ;) yeah and/or go regional. Irish player in Ireland, Welsh player in Cardiff, Bunting in Liverpool, etc.

Maybe the guests could work as a 'Challenge Team' kind of thing. Put their combined record on the league table, and if they avoid relegation then their best performers get to carry on into the final weeks.

It quickly becomes too complicated, but yeah. Regional/grudge guests each week is a decent idea IF they want to shake it up.

The Premier League format should go back to what it was with 8 players from 2007-2012, when it was best of 14 legs in the league and they all played each other twice, and 4 matches per night with the top 4 going through to the semi finals. Going to 10 players and "relegating" 2 players at the half way stage is overkill.

The 10 players format does have its advantages. Games are played at a shorter format, and are therefore commercial free. Also, more players get in, which keeps things a bit fresher, as there's more of a variety in the match-ups. The first round of relegations means that games matter more in the early stages.

The downside is that some players end up playing twice in an evening later in the tournament, which I've never enjoyed. The schedule can be a bit blurry at times. It fucks over the live-audience as well. When I went a few years, Gando and Rab both played twice, and faced each other in the last game. Having already seen them, and it getting late, some of the crowd called it a night (including me and my Brother, as we had a train to catch)

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

with sennafan on this.

the old system got boring mid way, the relegation add interest to an otherwise dull period
plus an extra 2 players means not only variety but 5 matches instead of 4

Premier League event in Rotterdam sold out in 14 minutes. Event from this year was sold out in 45 minutes. Well done.

Wow. They should really look for a bigger venue in the Netherlands. Just pick a week with no Euro football and organise it in Gelredome. A football stadium with a roof that can close. Or in Amsterdam Arena. They can sell 40,000 - 50,000 tickets. They will make more than a £1 million.

which bitter cunt came up with that ?

Even if that were to be true, its means touts know of the demand for these events which also proves the success of the PL as touts would not have bought them otherwise

That really is a self defeating argument as it suggests there's a huge market for tickets way above face value.

Less really is more

A problem the BDO will never have to contend with. Touts, you see, are only interested in events which have the remotest chance of selling out.

Sure we all remember the Fishfinger Classic selling out in minutes followed by the rest of the "New Era" events? Then there's the WDT which was a most remarkable success with the Winmau Masters already sold out.

Spot on. Demand is demand. Nobody buys a ticket to flush the fucker down the toilet, do they?
