Re: The TDF 365 Day 180 Challenge
won a new set of darts (PL comp) and got them saturday.
target's phil taylor 9zero's. 24 gram.
they come with the plastic (nylon?) PRO GRIP shafts.
I've always shot with aluminum, but I'm giving the set up they came with a try.
usually I just remove everything and put my set up on immediately.
what purpose does the small metal rings serve?
within 5 minutes of throwing, a flight popped off & I spent the next 5 minutes searching
on the floor for the little metal ring. found it and put it back on.
I managed to break all 3 rings that day during play.
did hit a ton eighty Saturday night in competiion with them though.
so what purpose does the small metal rings serve?
Am I doing something wrong? groups too tight or something?
the darts didn't come with directions.

The ring is supposed to close the stem down so the flight doesn't come off

oh. didn't know that.Jockenaria wrote:The ring is supposed to close the stem down so the flight doesn't come off
I figured they were supposed to protect the tines on the shafts from snapping off on robin hoods.

I didn't know. that's why I asked.
your answer makes sense.
would imagine the plastic shafts lose grip over time

Re: The TDF 365 Day 180 Challenge
why wouldn't you want the flight to pop off in a tight must-have shot?
(9 count on the 15's & a 152 double in with the new darts.,,
yet missing my old ones, don't know if I can go a week)

I remember the huge brass darts with feathers stuck onto wooden stems. Them were the days!
