Finished The Ritual by Adam Nevill.

First half - good, blokes on a hiking trip in Scandinavian forest get stalked by an ancient creature

Second half - bit bonkers, as Norwegian black metal band prepare a sacrifice for the aforementioned beast.

Now reading zombie story, The Reapers Are The Angels by Alden Bell. It's very good so far.

Same old mate and Betty's recovering well at the moment. New year brings another op for her so we're pretty much touching wood.

Oh no, another one! Did you know about this op originally, or is this a new requirement? Either way, very best wishes to Betty and yourself.

Cheers mate, this one's a huge setback that wasn't supposed to happen. One side of the new graft pretty much instantly blocked and there's a real risk now she could lose a leg.

The Reapers Are The Angels (Alden Bell) was very good. Similar themes to The Passage, but only 300-odd pages, faster-paced, and overall a much more enjoyable experience.

Finished it yesterday. Was a slow burner, but not too bad a read. Didn't see the ending coming, but that was more due to the fact it was a bit off the wall rather than me being a tad slow.
