It's not only in Europe mate as while he was in India he was begging students to come and study here. That in itself isn't a bad thing but again it's worth looking deeper into why the places are available in the first place and the young Brits aint taking them up?

The answer's the huge jump in tuition fees taking our kids out of that market. Also, these Indian students would have full access to the NHS and housing which already are stretched to breaking point.

They'd also be entitled to take jobs for the time they're here which again adds to the home grown unemployed

Read it myself and it was a balanced piece mate. Didn't put all the emphasis on immigrants which is correct. Homeowners in London can sell up, buy elsewhere and have a major cash pile left and most do this around retirement age.

A total policy rethink is necessary as closing the borders would be counter productive to the economy as a whole in my opinion. Tougher entry criteria and entitlement rules would be the place to start

I'm not against deporting people who have no legitimate right to be here and also those who commit crimes. A strict points based system works and has been proven to work in places such as Australia, adopting a similar policy would go a long way to solving the problem.

People who's aim is to work and add to society should be welcomed, the rest not

I think that's a question many are asking mate. Regardless of how he's perceived Milliband opened the debate a few months ago admitting the previous government made "Mistakes". This is an area that all parties should co operate on and formulate a policy that works
