Re: tennis thread
He has been very strong all year. Won one of Miami or Indian Wells without losing a service game, cannot remember which.
Fully hope Anderson beats him though.

Re: tennis thread
Didn't see any of the Federer game earlier.
To come from 2 sets and match point down, hard to believe.

Re: tennis thread
He played some really good points but Federer really looked tired after 3 sets. The end isn't too far off I think.Randall wrote:Didn't see any of the Federer game earlier.

Nadal or Djokovic will have two much for Isner/Anderson.

Nadal can't have long left, Murray could be done.Chizzyfan wrote:He played some really good points but Federer really looked tired after 3 sets. The end isn't too far off I think.Randall wrote:Didn't see any of the Federer game earlier.

Isner would be the first us mens major winner for 14 years?
Surprised he beat raonic.

Re: tennis thread
To be fair, Raonic hasn't done a lot in a while. If Anderson reaches the final I think it would be competitive if he plays as well again. 2020 and the 'big four' will be pretty much done I think. Djokovic may cling on to a top 16 place but that'll be it.

If zverev is the next big thing the game could be in trouble.Chizzyfan wrote:To be fair, Raonic hasn't done a lot in a while. I think Shapovalov is much more talented than Zverev.Randall wrote:If zverev is the next big thing the game could be in trouble.Chizzyfan wrote:To be fair, Raonic hasn't done a lot in a while. Tsitsipas has impressed me recently as well, not sure he is anything special though.

Then again, you'd have said that after the borg/McEnroe era and others since.

I don't see Zverev dominating the game.Randall wrote:After this era anything would seem week.Kimmy wrote:I think Shapovalov is much more talented than Zverev.Randall wrote:If zverev is the next big thing the game could be in trouble.Chizzyfan wrote:To be fair, Raonic hasn't done a lot in a while. He seems really mentally weak in slams, maybe that will change in a few years.

Zverev is another Dimitrov, promises so much but won't deliver.

Yep. His match against Federer was great.Chizzyfan wrote:At least Anderson can play tennis.
Isner is just fucking woeful viewing.
Still not quite as bad as Karlovic though, that is the ultimate viewing challenge.

Re: tennis thread
I've actually been surprised at Anderson's backhand to set up the big forehand, he uses it well.

Think Isner will crack. He's never been near a slamfinal before.

Re: tennis thread
Hardly surprising. Isner makes all his matches drag on like this until he cracks.
