Timeless and Dated movies

Post by Justin Credible » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:33 pm

the other thread got me thinking about what movies would you class as timeless and what movies have dated badly.

The Die Hard movies which were good at first now seem really dated and i think how shit they are and ask myself did i really enjoy them at the time ?

For me westerns especially hold their value as the main reason being the script, the basic premise of good versus evil and good wholesome violence and retribution.
Court room dramas, and adapted plays like 12 angry men can work regardless of any time.

The star trek series up until the newest one which was decent. Unmitigated shite.

Watched 'Generations' again today. Still very enjoyable. The only Die Hard I enjoyed was the third one and I could happily watch that again - Samuel L. jackson was superb.

Love most westerns and 70s/80s cop films like Dirty Harry etc.

Saw the Beverley Hills Cop trilogy the other night and still enjoyed them. I like lots of Eddie Murphy stuff from the 80s - Trading Places being the best.

No, I saw 'Raw' but don't know the one you mentioned.

Loved 'Coming to America' and 'Golden Child'.

Indeed. 'Scent of a Woman' lives on too. So many astonishing scenes in that film.

The Sellers Pink Panther films will always be funny, makes them timeless in my opinion
When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

Golden Child is class, without Murphy it would of been added to the shite pile.

Charlotte Lewis would of got it.
