Whoops Baghdad, styled very closely on Up Pompeii.
Frankie Howerd as a Muslim. I wonder why this hasn't been repeated for a while.

I did and like you thought it was laboured. When you think about the great shows of the past the longer they go on the more they should have been allowed to slide away.
Fawlty Towers, only two series and still after almost fifty years still worth a watch

Another Network sale. 50 comedy items. 'Rik Mayall Presents' is in there. Always sounds interesting but never seen.

Oh right. Forgive my surprise, I wasn't particularly expecting an answer!Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:07 amWatched the first couple of episodes and couldn't get into it.
Things like Veep and Curb Your Enthusiasm have completely passed me by... I'm looking for a US sitcom with 20-minute eps.

Curb eps are longer, but well worth it.Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 1:19 pmOh right. Forgive my surprise, I wasn't particularly expecting an answer!Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:07 amWatched the first couple of episodes and couldn't get into it.

Onto season 9 of The Simpsons.
Skipped a few episodes (and most of season 2) which I've seen countless times before.
'The Principal and The Pauper' is one of the worst episodes of the "golden era". So, skip.

I've skipped through a fair few of the episodes.
Only because I've seen them countless times on BBC2, Channel 4 and Sky 1 over the years.
It is interesting to see what they cut out from the TV broadcasts, though.
I never knew until a few years ago, that the episode where Homer becomes sanitation commissioner. The word "wanker" is uttered at least twice.
