Shane Warne's Last Game is Today

A controversial character and in the shite almost as many times as he took a wicket. What a bloody bowler and who can ever forget that magic ball when he did Gatting all ends up?

he's a proper bloke just wish he had been english, but i suppose some wanker would have pulled his game to bits and turned him into an off spinner finishing his england career with about 18 caps 6 wickets and 27 runs
Believe it or not I look forward to your posts. I admit I was having a bad day, don't we all sometimes?

One of those guys who would be a shoe in for any 'All Time XI' as far as I'm concerned, along with Gilly.

Complete legend.

Complete legend.
the middle/lower order of an all time team picks itself in my mind.

the openers and picking between west indian quicks is problematical.

King Curtly would have to be one of my quicks.

it would be a heck of a choice between him and garner though.

who is the all rounder? sobers? botham? tough choices to make.

Curtly was a real destoyer though, never forget the test against the Aussies when they need fuck all and he took an 8 for.

He did it to England at least twice as well, 6 in Trinidad and another 8 for in 1990, can't remember the test.

All rounder is easy Sobers - near 58 batting average and over two hundred wickets.

Spinner Warney and keeper Gilchrist.

The Don obviously has to play, as does Isaac Vivien Alexander Richards.

Other batting contenders - one of the three W's, Wally Hammond, Lara, Tendulker, Gavaskar, Ponting, Compton, Graeme Pollock - fucking long list.

the openers are the hardest choice, i might be tempted to throw gooch in the pot, at his very best he was as destructive as any and when he set his mind to it a dog to get out, always liked watching greenidge as well.

the middle order, bradman, richards, tendulkar
all rounder sobers
keeper gilchrist
spinner warne
quickies ambrose, holding, for variety id like a left arm quick so the obvious choice is akram.

the possibilities are though endless and im sure ive left out someone very obvious.

Hmm, we're getting closer to THE definative 'All Time Cricket XI'

Bradman
Richards
Tendulkar
Sobers
Gilchrist
Warne
Akram
Ambrose

Openers - Gavaskar has to be a shout and Matty Hayden weren't bad, Gordon Greenidge?

Other bowlers - DK Lillee, Malcolm Marshall - only going with one spinner as Sobers could bowl spin or seam up.

Decent looking team so far and we haven't mentioned Jack Hobbs or Wally Hammond.

Or Trueman or Ray Lindwall or Keith Miller or Murali.

Very long list of candidates but to get in mine and Randall's 'All time XI' you need to be super special.
