Tipple has done a lot of Events. over the years but only got to a semi of a flyer event.

They need to rethink the OOM. Maybe split it into main and one year

These 'ridiculous numbers' on Channel 5 last year eh. It's interesting how perceptions form and linger.

The Saturday session's viewing figure didn't chart in the channel's top 50 for the week so we have no idea what it was.

The Sunday session rated significantly lower than what Channel 5 got in the same slot the week after when they just showed old films.

I know nothing more than that.

250,000 was the figure which was steady, Channel 5 is not known for sport much. But the word was that they thought the Production 24/7 was very poor and they didn't have the confidence it would improve also Jason Francis actions have pissed them off. Leaking a phonecall to twitter he had with Hearn (Look at Ronnie O'Sullivans dads twitter for more). As for the Bobby George comment it results in someone who was involved with WSDT to resign, IF true he's also been downgraded and kept away from VIPs. Jenningsbet are rumoured to leave after the COC next weekend. Nothing has been mentioned about the Masters/Matchplay at the moment (But its in the Autumn, so no panic really) in need for a new sponsor.

It's a bit of a mess and it will be sorted but some crap things have happen. Not earth moving for the darting world but WSDT are very quiet on it at the moment

Thanks for the info. I am looking it up. It all looks rather chaotic from the outside.

From what I can gather, Jason Francis (Modus promoter) wanted to put a senior snooker event on Channel 5 that invited tour card holders (or at least only O'Sullivan, I don't know). He had spoken to Channel 5 about it.

As per darts, tour card holders are under contract elsewhere so he had to apply for special permission or something.

Now it gets muddy. Barry Hearn was not impressed and phoned up Channel 5 who then dropped the whole idea? Then Jason Francis (says oche) posted (why?) the private phone call he'd with Hearn afterwards. In summary, it seems Channel 5 are a bit pissed off.
