Friday 25th March 1977.

47 years ago today.

The final episode of Porridge, entitled 'Final Stretch', airs on BBC1 at 8.30pm, between 'Are You Being Served?' and the Nine O'Clock News.

The follow-up series 'Going Straight' will air in the following year, and in 1979 there will be a feature film.

Sunday 26th March 1995.

2.35pm on ITV Central, live First Division football from Ayresome Park.

Live F1 on BBC2.

The Trotters embark on a decorating venture on BBC1 at 7.30pm. I vaguely remember Hamish Macbeth.

A Robson rocket that afternoon. Apparently his first and only goal for Middlesbrough.
