Talk of the devil. It's Brucey. BBC1 at 7pm: 'Takeover Bid'?
11.40pm on BBC2: the 1966 World Cup final. Mad to think it was only 24 years ago at that point.

Seems that Barry Atkinson's passing in December 2021 passed the forum by.

One of those Brucies from 1990. Never heard of it before.
'The basic premise of Takeover Bid was that of a "reverse game show", where the contestants were given prizes at the beginning of play, and the object of the game was to try and keep them.'

Monday 3rd June 1996.
Columbo could turn up anywhere. This time, BBC1 on a Monday at 2pm.
The X-Files on BBC2, hmm. I didn't know the BBC had those.

Re: TV listings from the olden days
Tuesday 4th June 1996.
Snooker on UK Gold, ok. Live badminton on Sky Sports that night. The sports package looking pretty grim at this point it must be said.
The X-Files gets mentioned as an influence on 2.4 Children. Here they both are on the same night which is very nice.
