On this day in 1964.

The BBC goes on air at 10:45am as 'Watch With Mother' teaches you how to make a paper lantern.

All done by 11.50pm. How's that for you Ginge?

I was just about to mention it. It goes off air at 1.45pm until Blue Peter at 5.10pm. I didn't know they used to do that.

I do enjoy the oul closedowns though. This is the very last Granada one, as they preview the "new age" of overnight TV. Granada one of the few ITV regions who tossed the National Anthem off (Ulster was another)

13th April was a Saturday in 1957.

ITV Midlands brinngs you Rolf Harris before the football results, a treat. He must be about 100, disgrace.

He's 93. Surprisingly only Wolf has him in the Death Pool.

He had his own TV show at least 6 years before Doctor Who first aired. I hadn't thought of him as being so old.

The 4th series of Peep Show begins. Late night highlights of the cricket world cup on BBC1. That's a blank.

Aussies won. The tournament is mostly remembered for the farcical end to the Final when the umpires made them play in near darkness.
