Belgium is ahead of Australia

Would be Scotland if both Wright and Gando entered

Makes sense but you would feel Aussies should get a bye as defending champions

Why on earth should they? If the reigning WDF champion was only 23rd in the rankings he would have to play the first round the year after with no bye. This is no different.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

There's something wrong with a ranking system if your champion is 23rd though.

I don't disagree in theory. But it is what it is.
Someone who wins the Matchplay could in theory not be in it next year, I don't believe any darts event has a mechanism to ensure a winner is seeded the following year, correct me if I am wrong.

Not an official mechanism no. I was just pointing out that a champ shouldn't be 23rd in the rankings. I'm not sure what I think about Australia not being one of the top 4 seeds. They probably should but there is no way to measure how good a pair is other than current world rankings

Champions League used to have auto qualification for defending champ but only because the fat midget paedo cunt Taylor failed to qualify otherwise

Oh that's fine. Lakeside has auto qualification for next year too. Point being they aren't guaranteed to be seeded, which is what I was driving at.

Yes

Did Grand Slam use to seed based on event wins or was it always on world ranking?

I think they used to handpick the seeds in some way that seemed reasonably fair. It was only a pointless exbo after all.

I see Hingey was given top seed in 2011.

Now we are talking

System needs fixed and so do the floorboards

I would like the seeds to be given to winners of 8 biggest events - Worlds, Slam, Matchplay, Grand Prix, PL, Uk Open, Players, Euros

Syphilis.

Any more silly questions?
I actually do have more questions. I was a member of a boxing forum at one time, so I understand the annoying nature of newbie questions. I just started watching competitive darts last year, so pardon me, sir.

I still don’t quite get how group stage works. 3 teams, 3 games each team, top team goes through. Team A plays Team B while Team C waits for, then plays the winner? So then it’s Team A (1-0) vs Team C (0-0) while B (0-1) waits?

C Beats A to go (1-0), A drops to (1-1) and B is (0-1), then plays and beats C to go (1-1), while C is now (1-1). So now all 3 teams are 1-1 with 1 game remaining.

This is why I’m confused to how a 3 team, 3 game round robin works.
