DBG - The Honest Truth

Post by Suspect Device » Sun Jan 08, 2023 1:44 pm

Seems DBG has a long list of darting achievements he wishes to share and discuss on the forum. Why not list them and post here instead of gate crashing several threads. Makes good sense, right? This one has been a recent topic of discussion so it's fitting to start with this from 23 years ago:

1) Won the Oxford Singles 2000
2) Beat Nigel Heydon in a tin pot comp 2012
3) Always practices at comps with a pint in his hand (as seen in the clip below)
4) Regularly averages around the 100 mark
5) Please add here...

5) was chased out of Northern Ireland by Barry Copeland?
6) thought having a private wager as to if he was attending Q School or not would contravene DRA rules on gambling
7) couldnt lift a chair at Rileys Wolverhampton.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Averaged well over 120 in a local comp, as did his opponent.

Averaged between 60-70 in the games there are actual recorded averages for at Q School. Fair play to him for joining the other deluded fellas and not hiding behind his username, though.

Beat Bristow in 1995 while only 17, and then beat him again at an exbo in 2006.

Maybe he could have dragged Taylor down, we will never know.

My personal favourite was when the landlord of a pub rang him, to take Bristow down a peg or two - DGB gave away the throw, 401 start for Bristow, either that or the time DGB found the missing World Cup in 66.

9-12 are above ^

13) A player I have zero time for or like in the slightest, I battered him (Matt Paggett) at the Wolverhampton Open after some utter shithousery from him then we had an exchange of words after on Facebook...Since then I don't give him the time of day and its the same for a lot of players, He is not well liked at all.

Here is Number 14

"Gates has always been a bit of a simpleton and tries to slow down every player he plays....Has no respect for his opponents either with how he walks around the oche/throwing area....I was praying to draw him at Q-School as players like that just annoy me that much I just don't lose to them"

15:

"Not played him (Woodhouse) since I beat him then but he has played in our Rileys league on Thursdays last season and I could see a big improvement in his attitude and his game, Would be a tougher task now but it would be close and I know he want's his revenge so I would love a rematch"

The truth is he’s a half decent local league player who might get a sniff of county B somewhere around division two or three.

If he played at Salopian the other day it wouldn't have been streamed, that's for sure.

Keep them coming Dave:

Few weeks ago...Virgin Tavern in Worcester...

14, 17, 13 darts and a 3-0 win

Was my first game in a round robin comp against Worcestershire county player Andy Pullen, 5 players in the group I got through in 2nd place winning 3 out of 4 matches, Won my last 8 match 4-3 then lost in the semis 4-1, Longer the night went on the worse I got to be fair, Was still struggling to be on my feet for so long throwing.
