Re: 2023 World Series of Darts
One thing I don't really agree with is listing two established tour card holders in with the international bunch, I think they should be among the PDC representatives and give more chances to the local lads, otherwise, I don't really care who gets picked lol

They should give a wildcard for Victor Monaghan at the NZ event.

If yes, they are PDC. If not, they are international

Re: 2023 World Series of Darts
The whole point of the World Series is to grow the game, having a past peak but still very decent Whitlock and a player in Heta who has won this event before instead of players like Noppert and Aspinall (fantastic though they are, they aren't stars and I doubt they add much in terms of viewing figures) would do more for thatThe Thorn wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 9:23 pmWould they have been picked if they weren't from OZthegentle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 10:26 am One thing I don't really agree with is listing two established tour card holders in with the international bunch, I think they should be among the PDC representatives and give more chances to the local lads, otherwise, I don't really care who gets picked lol

Re: 2023 World Series of Darts
Whitlock is a much bigger name in darts even now than anyone else from anywhere that they play World Series events tbf, I'd rather they counted him as one of their 'stars' and give local players (although I suppose the PDC might have an 'understanding' with players like Noppert that they get a spot in compensation for not getting a Prem spot)The Thorn wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 9:43 pmBecause they are from OZ but if this was the Bahrain event the same wouldnt be truethegentle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 9:33 pmThe whole point of the World Series is to grow the game, having a past peak but still very decent Whitlock and a player in Heta who has won this event before instead of players like Noppert and Aspinall (fantastic though they are, they aren't stars and I doubt they add much in terms of viewing figures) would do more for thatThe Thorn wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 9:23 pmWould they have been picked if they weren't from OZthegentle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 10:26 am One thing I don't really agree with is listing two established tour card holders in with the international bunch, I think they should be among the PDC representatives and give more chances to the local lads, otherwise, I don't really care who gets picked lol

Probably one of the better places for him. "Fast-paced Australian darts player" isn't a commonly-heard expression.

Re: 2023 World Series of Darts
Neither Whitlock nor Heta would be amongst the 8 PDC representatives in any World Series event outwith Australasia, so them being included as local players is a no brainer for me.thegentle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 10:26 am One thing I don't really agree with is listing two established tour card holders in with the international bunch, I think they should be among the PDC representatives and give more chances to the local lads, otherwise, I don't really care who gets picked lol

Bit difficult to shoehorn him in really. Heta and Whitlock are no brainers and then you have the qualifiers.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

They could invite anyone. No difference if they have 3 or 4 open qualifying spots. There would be big interest in CadbyThe Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 10:12 amBit difficult to shoehorn him in really. Heta and Whitlock are no brainers and then you have the qualifiers.
Not sure if he'll be able to play the qualifiers, I hope so. But seems like someone having a tour card should be an auto include from the region if only 3 players have a card

Very odd that Cadby is not there. I wonder if he's even in Australia now?
