The WDF is worse than the BDO though. I'd be suprised if more than 2 WDF players escape from the group stages

The WDF is not relevant enough.

The sooner Thorn and Oche accept this the better.

I really don't think you and Oche realise how niche the WDF is to casual darts fans.

I would wager many don't even know it exists and will be unaware they ran a World Championship last year. Even the BDO post-BBC was far more relevant. Lakeside used to draw decent audiences on Channel 4.

Not only that but the gap in quality between the PDC and the WDF is wider than it ever was between the PDC and BDO. Most of the WDF's top players are active in the PDC in one way or another anyway. The only player of note exclusive to the WDF is Neil Duff, who isn't even in the world's top 100 players.

Someone in a WhatsApp group I am in didn't have any idea who the WDF was and thought the Welsh Open was just a cash comp these days because the BDO had gone bust.

And this isn't someone who is alien to darts, he's been to numerous Welsh Opens in the past. Says it all.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

I know all that. Casuals don't know shit. I don't care about them. On this forum we represent hardcore darts fans therefore we should be inclusive to all organisations.

What does this even mean?

Do I think the WDF is useful for running smaller events for prospects, journeymen and former pros? Yes.

Am I interested in following said events? No, it's not an especially exciting or interesting product even to "hardcore" darts fans.

You barely watch darts you are not included

For myself I think WDF is fine. They have events every weekend so there is something to follow or put on when there is nothing else. And their majors are exciting. It doesn't have to be the best thing since sliced bread. But still there are lots of good players in WDF so I will always respect them and pay attention

It's an amateur darts organisation that runs smaller events for prospects and journeymen.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Their "exciting" majors are one of their biggest issues currently. They are pushing it running a 9 day TV event imo. The demand and talent simply isn't there to support such an event.

They should just stick to running smaller events, and not waste time and money trying to recreate the past or gain recognition from the PDC. I actually think Little Richard recognised this to some degree. You, Oche and others? Sadly not.

No need to be a cunt. I agree Lakey should be 4-5 days

But as long as it's there it's good for us to have it

Then why are you still proposing that the PDC should give the WDF GSOD spots?

Pointless. As stated, it's not going to become any more relevant or recognised than it is now.

I'd like a national holiday in celebration of the birth of Rod Harrington.

Doesn't mean I am going to waste time proposing it online.
