Thanks Oche for that details. Yeah I still don't see a point in the World Open but I get the logic with players travelling from all over the world to play in another ranking event. Less said about the World's Qualifier the better  The world champs player situation could have a few pullouts and having to rearrange the draw. Should have punted the qualifier to the new year or at least nearer the World's or after Q school.

I see why they want to have the qualifers at the same time as the Masters though, you have them all there for the Masters so its a decent opportunity to hold it as otherwise they all have to schlep back to play in them in a few months time.

I remember one year though the Masters was in September. Lakeside year ended in October. They held the qualifiers anyway, you had people who eventually qualified by right playing in the qualifier to hedge their bets, was absolutely absurd.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Yeah I can get why they want to play the qualifier at the Masters with all the players there. Wonder if we'll get a Lakeside date in the next couple of weeks. It's not really fair on the players.

Should always have Masters and world qualifier at the same time. Bradders is right it was absurd that year.

I think it was Norris, Prins, Kist who qualified and they was in the Ranking table to qualify anyway

Assume they were just entered by default and barely any will turn up, remember its free to enter the Masters so the national org probably just ticked the box "just because".
