He was overrated a few years ago imo. Now I think he's fairly rated.

He had a 4-5 year stretch where he was top 10 in the world, perhaps peaking at 4th or 5th in mid-2020 before his form plummeted.

He was overrated for years. Taylor was right to cast doubt on his "future of darts" billing. I never thought he was going to be as good as MVG, Anderson, etc.

He is a player who had a good run where he made the PL and won some meaningful TV events before falling back into the pack. I think that's how most perceive him these days. Thus I now consider him to be fairly rated.

Gurney is underrated in the sense that it’s sometimes forgotten he’s won two tv ranking titles, there’s not many players out there who can say that in the last 15 years.

At the same time he’s rated fairly based on his current ability, I’d be shocked if he wins anything big again

You are still underrating him then. Gurney is a fine player that will be back in contention for top 10 soon.

Suggestion dismissed. However I might consider Nandor Bezzeg, a blast from the past.

Another troll post, but in all seriousness he isn't overrated.

He bottled it against Duzza at Lakeside 2018 and lost to Warren in the final of the O2 fiasco. He also failed to win a tour card at Q School 3 straight times. Both of his appearances in the GSOD ended with him not advancing from the group stage. Granted, he did win the World Trophy in 2019, but Duzza had left by then and the BDO's fields were at their weakest.

All in all he's perceived as he should be; a decent player who lacks motivation and will probably never crack the top 16.

Not a troll post. I’m assuming when you put ‘overrated’ that was a typo as this thread is for players that are underrated.
