Van Barneveld is the only one I can see being desperate enough to play in this as it's currently constituted. If there's actually room to make it bigger and more professional, it'll just get co-opted by the PDC anyway.

Taylor is in it, I doubt he is "desperate". If its there and they are eligible they will all likely give it a go.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Better than exbo money.
And they are all currently doing those so why not.

Wasn't Taylor getting paid extra to be the poster child for the initial marketing push here? Not so sure he'll be keeping at it after this year's events unless he actually comes to dominate them as he surely expected he would. Either way, he's that rare player who retired from the PDC tour entirely while he was still good enough to compete with the upper echelon. Who else is gonna do that and then turn around to play some pseudo-competitive senior exbos? Much more likely that the likes of Wright and Clayton will end up doing what Anderson does and just play a minimized tour schedule eventually for as long as they're good. And if they're no longer good and get dropped off the tour by right - well, won't be any different from the legends that are being trotted out now.

Well yes, he said at the Worlds event that if he played like that at Lakeside he was knocking it on the head.

Think this showing will encourage him to keep going for a bit longer.

He has got further in the event though, which no doubt will mask things in his head.

At any rate, Taylor aside...what I'm getting at is that Peter "was the world number one and in the PL ten years ago" Wright won't be any better of a draw down the line than somebody like Bob Anderson is right now. The issue that more than one event per year won't manage to hold interest will be exactly the same.

If we're just talking about doing one such event, then sure they'll probably all turn out for it if eligible. But as an actual series of events that they're expected to at least somewhat keep in playing shape for? I'm honestly skeptical they would bother. These guys will (one hopes) be much better set financially than the star players from 15-30 years ago.

Decent standard so far, for the seniors at least.
