While Taylor was nearly the always man.

Levels.
It's one thing to beat Deano and Nixon on the Lakeside stage or Kong Green at the Royal Hall.

It's another to beat Barney on the Lakeside stage, Lowe at the City West, or Taylor at the Winter Gardens.
If he'd been half as good at darts as he was at hiding from the good players he might even have won something worthwhile. Sad really but there is something to be said for knowing your limits.

Blasphemous take from a PDC fanboy. Wolfie is a great player, even at age 68 he is chopping it up in Modus super league while Taylor is a paedo

When Adams won Lakeside 2011 without having to average over 93 it appeared as though things couldn't get any worse for the amateur ranks.......................................................................

Sadly that wasn't the case.

Yeah the amateur game really declined, a pity. Thankfully the PDC has developed the likes of Plaisier and Berry van Peer who have hopped across and naturally cruised to some easy platinum titles and shown the amateur game what darts is all about.
