Stolen from Senna earlier but :-

Addicks Fan on TSOD has counted the first week ticket sales for the WDF World Championship. 1048 tickets have currently been sold, which accounts for 6% of the tickets on sale.

In comparison, over 13k total tickets were sold for the BDO Worlds at Lakeside in 2019, and 6,500 total tickets were sold for the O2 fiasco in 2020.

How about...

"Bob Potter pitching ticket prices at the same price as when he last held the event, clearly thinking the same demand was there"

Around 1500 tickets sold after 2 and a half weeks on sale.

And another...

"Dave Parletti moaning on Twitter that his "season was over" and he cant add to his Lakeside points total as he has chosen not to be vaccinated and can't travel abroad, despite both Ireland and Hungary (where events are being held this month) prepared to let him in with a negative test"

I don't feel very inclined to go howler hunting... which might sound a bit fruity given that I frantically submitted several hundred in 2020, culminating in just obnoxiously yelling 'POST ANYTHING'.

It was always the attitudes around the thing that fuelled the enthusiasm to shred it. Being out of the loop currently, I don't know how much toweringly pompous ultra-bollocks is being spouted about the alleged 'WDF World Championship'... what are the mushrooms saying about it?

Suspect many are going to the World Seniors instead.

It's on Eurosport. Will it make its way to Quest as well? Failure to appear on free telly would be historic. Someone email Quest. It's only 52 days away so they must have an inkling.

I'm going to make a prediction that could come back to haunt me.

This won't be the colossal fuck up that the O2 fiasco was.

That does seem much more likely to tickle their fancy. The players at the WDF worlds most warmly regarded will no doubt be Wolfie, Hogan, FcLoyalty and Warren. Always the old guys. I'm not sure what they'll do with Brian Raman and Thibault Tricole.

As Rogg pointed out that some of that is down to the fake bullshit about how great and important the event is. WDF won't seem as much of a fuck up in comparison because there are no expectations.

There's nothing automatically funny about a modest production of ropey darts with a half decent crowd.

So if nobody goes crashing about giving it full Bertie Big Bollocks then the thing might just be allowed to breathe a little and be ok.
