The last howler that sticks in my mind was the tribute that they were supposed to show TV viewers at the O2 for the recently deceased Olly Croft, and there was a technical fault and it was never shown. A fitting end really, like Scott Waites' "banter" with Bobby George ending the BBC coverage of Lakeside 4 years earlier.

I remember that Waites saying to George "If i yank your chain will you flush" and Bobby George looking at him like some idiot. Waites clearly pissed and a bad joke teller
Is there a video of this? For how many times it's mentioned I never saw it
It was after the final of the last Lakeside the BBC showed. A fitting end.
Although I see PT13 essentially said the same thing.

Nope, can't find it sadly it but I remember it vividly. Hire me a session at Pinewood and I'll re-shoot it for you.
They were on the balcony with Colin Murray. Hinges had a fixed simple grin, still holding the trophy and slurred to Bob: 'I've wanted... to ask you this all week... if I pull your chain will you flush?'
Bobby was flat-faced, utterly perplexed. Time stood still. He eventually said 'No' and wheezed.
