It's fun that you get ranking money for hitting a 180 and so on. That's got to keep attention high at entry level.

I wonder if it'll fundamentally change how they go about the game, will players be more inclined to go for a 180 off 210 for example

It may have a slight effect, depending on the circumstances. Players already smack in 180s on weird scores just for the hell of it.

Really? Ffs this infestation needs to stop. It will take forever and make the tour averages worthless.

Why anyone cares about tour averages are beyond me. Averages are essentially pointless. If your hitting 13-15 darters or 16-18 will make a huge difference to them but the truth is you throw darts in sets of three so it makes no difference. Can also easily get inflated by playing someone hitting everything and limiting your shots at doubles.

A much better stat would be number of legs won in 4,5,6 etc, visits to the board. The tv and online obsession with averages needs to end.
Team Corvid 2024 consists of the following 12 players.

Clayton, Cross, Gilding, De Sousa, Dolan, Evans, Campbell, Krcmar, Lauby, Puha, Szaganski and Turetta

That can't be condensed down to a single number such as average. Average is easy to understand and intuitive
