Although it isn't Aspinall's first tour card.

And years before Q School existed, we had Barney in 11 months going from a PDC ranking of nothing in February 2006 to world number 2 on the new Order of Merit system that began following his 2007 World Championship win.

Burton DeWitt @bsd987 16h
Steve Lennon up to joint-33rd, as he closes in on a debut in the Top 32. Gary Anderson and Peter Wright level at #3, with Wright ahead on count-back (not sorted).

How likely is it that Barney qualifies for the Worlds?

Many routes are available. Certainly his PC final the other day has given him a huge bump up the Pro Tour list. 32 qualify and he's currently up in 6th so... an excellent platform. Glenda is a mile out in front.

It's unlikely (but not impossible) that Barney will retain his place in the top 32 (less than £10k behind Noppy in the provisional top 32 list for Ally Pally, he's unlikely to make the Matchplay but could easily make everything else). If he gets knocked out of the top 32 again, in all likelihood he's about halfway to sealing his spot via the ProTour, somewhere in the region of £19/20k should be what's needed to make it to Ally Pally

Very good. Duzza and Hughes are obviously top class. No surprise to see the others doing well either. De Sousa is flying nicely under the radar, I expect him to improve and become a solid tour player. He's a complete newcomer so should have plenty of room to improve.

Thanks to Burton. Gurney now with a Grand Prix, PC Finals and ET title on his total. Not shabby.

Daryl Gurney's fourth PDC title lifts him to #3 in the world, becoming the 11th person to reach the Top 3 of the PDC Order of Merit. Keegan Brown becomes the 83rd person to reach the Top 32.

I mean fair play to Brown but I have zero idea how he's top 32. Can't remember him at all playing on TV for the last couple years.

He's crept along. Last 16 of the Worlds in 2018. I remember his win against Wade. Then a lucky draw against Lerchbacher before Taylor took him to bits.

And Last 32 at the last Worlds. Won a disgusting match against Klaasen.

That's 52k right there end of day -

Gurney up at number 3, never thought I'd see him go that high! Obviously he's been helped by Gando not playing, but you don't get that high without being a serious serious player!

Brown has definitely been a sleeper, he's been quietly creeping up on that top 32 for a while. Will almost certainly be some more players joining him, Dimitri and Aspinall in the top 32, Lennon and Dobey being the prime candidates. Things are shaking up around there, already more changes in the top 32 than the whole of last season!

Winning 2 majors in 2 years is always gonna keep you fairly high I guess. But it's still a bit strange to see him at no.3. Though he has a lot to defend from 2017, the WGP win, a bunch of major quarters and semis. It's taken a couple years and this no.3. ranking to highlight how consistent he was that year.

Jonny Clayton's third PDC title coincides with his rise to a new career-high #13 ranking. Gary Anderson moves back to #3 despite not playing this weekend.

Maybe I didn't expect Gurney to be no.3 for years but that was quick lol

Well it was always gonna happen if he skipped the weekend lol. What's Gurney defending in the coming events? Had a big end to the year so it might be difficult for him to get back up there again
