If a player gets 'relegated' it should mean that they are ineligible for the next PL.
Yeah but you could have odd cases where a player gets relegated, then wins a couple of majors or the worlds, in which case they couldn't be left out.

Looowis
Binky
JameZZZZZzz Wade
Barney
Suljovic

I still think Whitlock would need a good World Championship, though.

Right now, it appears that the last few spots will be easily decided. There is no way, barring a minor miracle, that Smith and Thornton are getting back in. It will be between Klaasen, Whitlock and Benito and the decision will rest solely on each of their performances at the WC.

I have thought that for a while, 'relegated' players should be ineligible next year unless they win a real major (Matchplay, Grand Prix, Grand Slam or Worlds, maybe PC Finals and UK Open as well) or are ranked in Top 4. Would shake things up, with no real risk of a top player missing.

I feel mensur will turn down the backroom PL invite if there is one.
if he automatically earns it through the OoM, it'll be another story.

personally I would love to see him in it, (and Barney too. I'm selfish like that)
but, and this is important, does he think he is ready for it?

think he has his sights & time prioritized for the ranking tournaments.
he knows how he plays, how to adapt, how to get stronger.

sometimes less is more will be my next point if anyone wants to discuss this post further.

I still don't see mensur in this, unless he wins the worlds, which won't happen. Left to Wildcard picks the flair players like klassen are always going to be ahead of him.

is it the top 6 that get automatic invites, general?
mensur may not have to win the worlds.
just gain around 10k on wade.

It's the top four I believe then the pdc and sky have Wildcard picks. Barney is Nailed on to be one of skys, klassen and Chisnall will be in.
His game just isn't meant for the PL.

It used to be the top 4, somebody said recently it's the top 6, but no official word on that I think, so gotta assume it's the top 4.

Don't think they'll pick Klaasen because of his past with MVG.

They may have agreed to pick him as "compensation" for the World Cup thing. Its only the same as them both being at a normal event, they dont have to play on the same team, so I dont see why that would be an issue.

I hope they have the balls to pick Klaasen. The World Cup incident was scandalous enough. Quick player, hits tons of 180s, perfect Premier League material if he can keep his form going.
