The point being, I just play in a pub league with absolutely no illusion that I am any better than that these days but I enjoy what I do.
Years ago when I was playing 3 or 4 nights a week I thought a bit differently but was always realistic enough to know that I would never really cut it any higher. Yes I tried and failed at County B level but that was it, I couldn't cut it there so would have had no chance any higher so just accepted that I would forever be just a pub player, albeit a rather good one at times.

DbG on the other hand continues to spout off about huge averages and victories in tournaments across the land but when push comes to shove the delusion is clear for all to see.
But good luck if you try again fella, you'll need it.

Tonight we try again, home match against the side 8th in the league, we are 7th.
Probably be a close one but will be a good night regardless.

A 13-8 defeat last night, we were appalling in the 4 a side and both pairs, thus we were 7-2 down at that point.
Singles were a bit better drawing 6 legs each and a 2-1 win for yours truly.

Spread was a non-event, dish of roast potatoes and mini pasties.
