Note Klaasen reaching the last 8. He qualified as the 2006 Lakeside champ, as they had 2-year invites back then.


Straight out the gate then, Gary Anderson with one of the very best BDO Slam runs, taking down four PDC players to make the semis.

Should probably have won this encounter as well.

I remember enthusiastically wanting Anderson to win. He was clearly under-performing, looking a bit overwhelmed, and still almost beat Taylor. He was such an interesting prospect.
