9 BDO reps. Three got through the group stage, and two of them were PDC players (Klaasen, King). Lol. Sounds fairly familiar so far.

Note Klaasen reaching the last 8. He qualified as the 2006 Lakeside champ, as they had 2-year invites back then.

Straight out the gate then, Gary Anderson with one of the very best BDO Slam runs, taking down four PDC players to make the semis.

Randall will now come along to tell us all about his SF with Taylor...
Do you not remember the semi final?
Anderson had not long humped taylor in the wdt final over best of 13 sets.
Should probably have won this encounter as well.
I remember enthusiastically wanting Anderson to win. He was clearly under-performing, looking a bit overwhelmed, and still almost beat Taylor. He was such an interesting prospect.

Taylor was a long way from his best in 07/08 as well

Fabulous mushroom work in the last 16 in 2008, even if you don't count King.

Webster 10-2 Part was reigning Lakeside v Ally Pally champs. That's some cunting for Barrys boys.

Just a reminder, that if Hearn sent 6 or 7 of the PDC's best players to a BDO event in late 08, then the PDC boys would almost certainly win the head to head and Taylor would have probably won the tournament easily.

2015: PDC 18-7 BDO
2016 PDC 18-11 BDO
2017 PDC 17-9 BDO
2018: PDC 17-10 BDO
2019: PDC 21-6 BDO ----- [4 of these BDO wins by a then-active PDC player]

When will Phil Taylor be the only difference between the codes?

My memory suggests that like many games it was close while Taylor got going then he went into overdrive. Probably as well as I've seen o sheep play
