Re: TV listings from the olden days
Thursday 13th May 1982. Radio Times.
Letters page. Under the header 'More to follow', Mrs Hazel Redding of Tetbury, Gloucestershire, is trying to invent twitter there. What a cow.
A good sitcom hour 8-9pm on BBC1.
Bloody snooker still going on too for some reason. The '82 semis.

Saturday 3rd May 1969.
Episode 3 of 'The War Games'.
Gardeners' World in its 2nd year, and narrowly avoiding being shown in black and white if you were lucky enough to have a colour telly already.

Saturday 14th May 1988.
A famous cup final.
Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends was between series 2 and 3 in 1988. Arguably in its pomp.

Wednesday 14th May 1980.
Cup Winners' Cup Final on BBC1. It was on ITV last time noted.
Some soul-searching on BBC2 at 9.45pm where the license fee is spiralling out of control...

Wednesday 15th May 1985.
Another Cup Winners' Cup Final. Looks like Corrie is on early to accommodate it.
Would you recognise that trophy pictured? Me definitely not. I do vaguely remember the competition. I think Chelsea won it with Vialli, Zola and that.

Re: TV listings from the olden days
You are correct. This is far better quality audio and video than recent football postings.
