To be fair I didn't have sky at the time so it was the only darts I really saw I couldn't say my opinion was hardened I remember my boss at the time played league darts and he was adamant Barney would win I remember telling him he had no chance so I was well aware of the difference. He was crestfallen on the Monday.

That's the complete opposite of me. When Taylor on Sky, referring to (as I later worked out) the upcoming ITV thing, said 'Bring on Barneveld' I didn't know what that was. Couldn't even be sure it was a person. Bizarre where the 'crestfallen' factor could come into it.

You'd never seen the embassy?

I don't think I had. It does sound unlikely. The earliest BDO memory I can dig out of my face is of Mason beating Barney. Seems that was in January 2000. I also remember watching the HAnkey-Baxter final in that same edition.

How odd A lot were unaware of the pdc but being in the bbc the bdo was more accessible

It certainly is odd. I just watched what my parents watched.

Evidently I come from prime anti-mushroom stock.

Having said that, I remember having the impression in the early 2000s that the BDO was better. The PDC had the show but the BDO had the players. I quickly came to hate that the game was split.

OK, we have all watched this place descend from a balanced, interesting, topical forum which actually included as posters many of the best darters in the world to a bdo hatchet job, that's fine btw, if that is what is required to keep this place afloat then ok i will live with that (providing i can offer some recourse which is getting harder as the mods become more anti bdo).

But, lets look at the way it has actually gone, the anti BDO brigade have totally taken over, this place is actually now known throughout darts as a place you are more than welcome as long as you abuse the bdo, note i don't say favour the pdc as that is rarely the case.
The only posts on here since 3.43 this afternoon have been to troll the bdo.

The point is, this place has been slowly dying, the players have all left and the genuine intelligent discourse has gone too, this entire forum is now purely a hate platform for those who loath the BDO, no need to take my word for it just look at any thread, they all descend (or begin as) into BDO hatred.
