Set off from Manchester at 5pm UK time yesterday and got to Rio at 9am UK time today via Lisbon. It's cost them over a grand each to do it at a days notice and that's before you add in hotels, local travel and tickets to the game. Nutters.

China did win a badminton gold earlier but they have only one gold in that sport this time around with another chance in the men's final tomorrow.

Four years ago they won all five golds on offer. Dunno where they are going to catch up to GB now other than that final and maybe the final of the men's 10m diving.

Yesterday afternoon - GB men run a shit time in the sprint relay heats and blame being in Lane 1 for getting a shit time. As a result they draw Lane 1 again in the final and finish outside the medals.

Yesterday evening - US women win the sprint relay from Lane 1.
