The Grand Slam of Darts trophy has been renamed the Eric Bristow Trophy in memory of the five-time World Champion.
A fitting tribute to the legend.
Would have thought the Lakeside trophy would have been renamed as he only won it five timesThe Ginge Reaper wrote:An event he never played in ffs.The Thorn wrote:PDC Darts @OfficialPDC

Well the only current PDC events he played in are the Worlds and the Matchplay, both trophies have been named already. The Ginge Reaper wrote:An event he never played in ffs.The Thorn wrote:PDC Darts @OfficialPDC

It's the one event where the BDO lads are shown up most of all, I'm sure he'd greatly appreciate the gesture! The Thorn wrote:Well the only current PDC events he played in are the Worlds and the Matchplay, both trophies have been named already. The Ginge Reaper wrote:An event he never played in ffs.The Thorn wrote:PDC Darts @OfficialPDC

I think it's quite fitting as Bristow was a major player in both organisations, and the GSOD is the annual PDC v BDO event so I think it's the best they could do.
Instead they're holding 40 hours of silence at the end of the month.Father Rout wrote:Would have thought the Lakeshite trophy would have been renamed as he only won it five timesThe Ginge Reaper wrote:An event he never played in ffs.The Thorn wrote:PDC Darts @OfficialPDC

4 months too late. Then add a decade. Local TV... meaning the Channel 8 thing on freeview TV?The Ginge Reaper wrote:It's alright, apparently all the ads on local tv, radio and in local papers will be starting soonRogg wrote:Instead they're holding 40 hours of silence at the end of the month.Father Rout wrote:Would have thought the Lakeshite trophy would have been renamed as he only won it five timesThe Ginge Reaper wrote:An event he never played in ffs.The Thorn wrote:PDC Darts @OfficialPDC

Great to see you back pal. How was the walk?Chizzyfan wrote:Chizzy's ranking will skyrocket when he wins it. It will be nice to see him back where he belongs, challenging for majors and the PL.
Up and down. I travelled to Ithe wonderful country of Iceland in mid January and stayed there for a while visiting the sites and seeing some remarkable beauty. Did not have much time for darts or forums while doing that. After that, things trickled along nicely for a while. I see Thornton is still fairly poor. The Thorn wrote:Great to see you back pal.
