But isnt the plan long term to only have 64 fully fledged pros????
Are they still gonna pay out 35k a comp with 100 quid entry then???

Re: Is the bubble going to burst anytime soon
what if Phil Taylor decided next year he was cutting back his schedule and was gonna miss the premier league....
is he under contract ?
allowed ?
or if there is nothing binding him then the pdc could be up shit creek

With the money and exposure involved the PL is never one he'd cut back on in my opinion.

I'm only going off what I've read on forums but I thought he was under contract, with Hearn? To which end he isn't retiring, or missing any tv stuff, til that runs out at the earliest?Justin Credible wrote:what if Phil Taylor decided next year he was cutting back his schedule and was gonna miss the premier league....

Re: Is the bubble going to burst anytime soon
Glad my new mate from here tale Belgium Rocco Maes got a nice draw in Bolton , be nice for him to get a pay day, belgiums only pdc player unfortunately couldn't afford to come over for QS as he funds himself , not only being just after Xmas he had just moved house to Herantals.
Really nice guy Deta met him in Dublin about 6 years ago.
Tour card should be scrapped or at least have a mini Qs maybe 16 places held in mainland Europe for non uk based players .

Re: Is the bubble going to burst anytime soon
If the PDC scrapped entry fees altogether they could still pay out £20k per event. Bet 99% of the Pdpa membership would be happy if they did.Dicie wrote:Pro tour payout near £35k per event, with max entry fee of £12,800
PDC losing on average of £40 grand per weekend there are tour events played, this is not including PDC staff wages, there accom or the hire of the venues and so on.
So, taking it all into account, i wud say easily £45 grand per weekend.
Can this continue, i know the premier league is the golden calf, but is it really taking in that much to cover these loses???
