The crew of the Trieste reach the bottom of the Mariana Trench called the Challenger Deep in 1960. This is the deepest point of the seabed at 10,900 meters.

The next person to reach the bottom would be legendary film director James Cameron in 2012 (wtf?), and until 2020 more people had walked on the moon than visted the bottom of the ocean.
