House of Fear currently. Haunted house short stories by usual suspects.
Got Sleeping Beauties on the shelf
Plus still to read
Ray Bradbury - Something Wicked This Way Comes
Kim Newman - Angels Of Music
Adam Nevill - Some Will Not Sleep

Afternoon matt.

Couldn't see any posts about books, just the usual suspects spouting shit.
Sleeping beauties is very good, I'm only a third of the way through.
His new one just came out as well.

Sleeping beauties became really quite hard work.
Not his best by a long way.
Read the upstairs room by Kate Murray Browne this week which I've really enjoyed.
Billed as a ghost story but was really character driven and interesting without ever really delivering the story promised.

Read the president is missing, first Patterson I have read in years, and probably the first one he has actually written in years. Wasn't bad.

Meh, pretty disappointing in the end.
Moved onto a noise downstairs by Linwood Barclay.

Was ok, nothing special.
Next up is the house on cold hill by Peter James.
Hopefully it's good as I've booked to see a play of it next March.

I suspect "Sepulchre" would fall into your latter category.
Not finished it yet, but barring an amazing finale, it's crap.

Ghosts of Sleath is good. I liked The Fog and The Dark. I've nearly read them all now.....just 3 left I think
Ash, Survivor, Nobody True.....those are the only James Herberts i've not read yet.

Wasn't mad keen on the fog, decent premise and beginning but lost its way.
Ash is a great romp, best thing he wrote.
Have you read any Stephen laws?

 we have this conversation every few years!
Yep I’ve read all Laws stuff.
Got a few more on my “to read” pile, picked up a few at “Britain’s biggest second hand bookshop” in Alnwick
