He may be an...eccentric character, but he's dangerous in this sort of format, and with Gibraltar now having some decent youngsters in Galliano and Hewitt, they can definitely win a game, maybe even get through the group

That would be awesome. It would be nice if he got selected regardless of that, as a challenge tour high upper and now a pro tour player.

PDC needs to fuck off the rules and pick Gates and Alex. Van Dongen isn't going to do damage.

I see quite a few people arguing this, but really Van Dongen is no worse than Gates if you look at the numbers

Gates has more potential on stage. PDC Worlds and Seniors being the example

Also I'm a Gates stan admittedly

People are now wanting the PDC to make up the rules as they go along? There is truly no shame in this world anymore.

Lauby is above him in the CT rankings actually, I hadn't even noticed. Lauby won't be in the PCs though by the look of it, or will he?

No they are based on the first CT weekend only. Alex finished around 9th I think

Yes. I imagine if Alex wins money on pro tour he will get the nod though?

from the PDC article:

'Nations who will be represented by players from the PDC Order of Merit will see their teams confirmed on Monday May 29, with the top two ranked players invited to compete for their country.'

which doesn't clear it up really. They'll take Von Dongen from the OoM but not necessarily a second player?

Danny still has OOM money from last year right? So he'd be ahead of me either way. The 20 event CDC rank is the determining factor as far as I'm aware.

His total went back to zero as he lost his card

The way I take it is that the top two Yanks on the main OoM will take the two spots, if there are indeed two, but I suppose it's worth remembering that it's at the 'discretion' of the PDC

Should one win on the ProTour take precedence over consistency over a longer period of time on a regional tour? It's a difficult question, although the standard even on the Challenge Tour is higher than what you'll find in any of the regional tours across the world
